Twas a night before Christmas, and all through the chats
Not a creature was stirring, not even the staff;
Some gave up all hope, but others still care,
So we’ll put our fivers together, and tone down the Cap!
First off, I would like to thank all those who still support SFO despite all the troubles, hurdles and difficulties of our everyday lives. In fact, thanks to selfless donations of Usurp and Bahki, we were able to completely catch up on all operations costs prior to December! We’ve also managed to cut back on costs by canceling one of our dedicated servers, which cut SFO’s monthly operations down by 33%.
Lastly, we’ve come to the end of the Staff Dream Goals. This experimental idea has given us several much needed non-MIA staff members, and has allowed us to stay alive long enough to see the year’s end.
So what does this mean going forward? For one, anyone can now contribute towards SFO’s Monthly Operational Costs. There is no longer a semi-outrageous “minimum donation amount” attached to operations, which means that anyone can contribute towards keeping SFO alive even with a $5 bill. In fact, if just 40 active SFO players can managed to spare a single fiver each month, SFO could continue to stay online indefinitely.
As an added bonus (since every donation counts, and in the interest of promoting the survival of SFO) anyone who donates towards a Monthly Operational Dream Goal, will receive TRIPLE the color slots compared to other Dream Goals.
Lastly, join us on Saturday December 23rd for SFO’s first ever Christmas Nerfing! Where Super America will hopefully once again become Captain America! (by having all of his super-over-powered moves toned down, just in time for Christmas)
As always, please accept our deepest thanks to all those who supported us throughout the year. Expect more news, changes, info and minor updates in the upcoming weeks and months.
While it could be argued that SFO is currently being kept alive only for the nostalgia sake, we will continue to do so as long as there are still die-hard supporters left. And until such time, Dreams Don’t Die!
